Richard Fajzel joined Exactis in 2015 as Vice President Business Development, to share his pharmaceutical experience in oncology with the team. Richard is a visionary executive with 27 years of pharmaceutical experience, 15 years in a senior executive role including over 5 years as General Manager of the oncology business unit at Pfizer Canada. Richard’s experience covers specialty pharmaceutical businesses, establishing business units, account management and managing cross-functional teams.
Richard has been Chairman of the Board of CQDM since 2016 (Consortium québécois sur la découverte du médicament).
Dr. Batist is a medical oncologist and molecular pharmacologist. He is Director of the McGill Centre for Translational Research in Cancer, which was established to stimulate rapid translation of new discoveries in the research laboratory into clinical benefits for patients. A major award from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation led to the expansion of the Translational Research Centre into the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital. Dr. Batist is a former Chairman of the McGill University Department of Oncology, and helped found and directs multiple local and global initiatives in Precision Medicine. His scientific focus is therapeutic resistance, and he has 200 publications. He is a member of several scholarly associations, and serves on editorial boards and on advisory committees.
Suzan McNamara joined Exactis in 2016 bringing her vast experience in biomarker-driven oncology clinical trials and translational studies. As Vice President, Suzan is responsible for the leadership, overall strategic direction, management and accountability of the Clinical and Translational Operations departments.
Suzan obtained her BSc in Molecular Biology at Concordia University and obtained her PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University where her studies focused on mechanisms of cancer resistance. Following her doctorate, she worked as a Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Jewish General Hospital and at Health Canada as an Assessment Officer where she was responsible for the evaluation, regulation and licensing of health products. As the former Director of Clinical and Translational research at Q-CROC, she brings her experience in the development and management of longitudinal biomarker-driven clinical and translational studies.
Karen holds a PhD degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (France). She completed a 5-year post-doctoral training in the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University. Her research led to the identification of new tumor suppressor gene candidates and the generation of a new genetically modified ovarian cancer cell line model, with high potential to develop biomarkers for clinical application. Karen then worked within different groups at McGill University and the University of Montreal as a researcher and further developed biobanking and clinical sample profiling strategies, and participated in developing a multiplex blood-based assay for breast cancer detection.
Karen’s role as Co-Director of Translational Operations at Exactis is to manage clinical sample collection from 14 PMT sites and coordinate the profiling of the specimens across a network of 5 NGS laboratories. Karen also manages, execution of translational strategies for biomarker discovery and molecular signatures to support the development of personalized medicine.
Maud holds a PhD degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Sherbrooke (Canada). She completed a 5-year post-doctoral training in the Department of Experimental Medicine at McGill University. During this time, she developed skills in project management, problem-solving, multi-tasking and employees training and supervision. Maud’s work was highly collaborative with different groups at McGill University and more resulting on numerous publications.
Maud’s role as Co-Director of Translational Operations at Exactis was first to oversee and implement the next generation sequencing platform and analytic pipeline for variant calling across the four Exactis Network laboratories. Nowadays, Maud is involved in all the critical steps of project development, management and operations.
Ethan Hoang joined the Exactis’ team in 2019 as Head of Information and Technology. Ethan completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in MIS from Concordia University. He will be responsible for the strategy, execution and operations of Exactis’ business technology, information security, data management, network and infrastructure services.
Ethan has a vast wealth of experience in IT, infrastructure, data management and strategies, and analytics. Ethan previously held leadership roles in various industries including Director of Data Operations and Director Commercial Analytics at Indegene, and Director of Drug Pricing and Business Intelligence at Groupe Jean Coutu. He has extensive experience with pharmaceutical data, insurance data and clinical data.
Aileen Lebofsky joined Exactis in December 2016 as Finance and HR Administrator. Her professional acumen and accomplishments within a relatively short time span indicated that a change in her title to Finance and HR Manager was essential. Aileen has more than 20 years of experience in the not-for-profit milieu and shares with the Exactis team her insights in human resources and finances.
Aileen received a B.A. in French-English Translation and a Graduate Diploma in Institutional Administration, both from Concordia University.
Michel joined Exactis in early 2019 as a managerial accountant. Before joining Exactis Innovation, Michel held management positions in finance and accounting for Bombardier, Alcoa and more recently for an Airbus subsidiary. In between his career in the aerospace industry, he acquired, owned, and operated an established powersports dealership from 2003 until its sale in 2014.
Michel holds a B. Comm. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from McGill University, an MBA in Management from Université du Québec à Montréal and is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).
Michel’s experience in multinational industrial organizations and as principal of a SME brings a unique set of skills that have contributed to the development of strong accounting processes and reporting tools for Exactis Innovation, enabling the organization to have a clear vision of its finances, past and future.
Diana Salazar joined Exactis in 2019 as Clinical Operations Manager. Diana has over 7 years experience in the management of clinical trials in cardiovascular, chronic viral and infectious diseases. Diana provides leadership, mentoring and technical support to the clinical operations team to ensure achievement of project milestones in alignment with applicable corporate and clinical operations policies, as well as Standard Operating Procedures. Diana completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (Genetics) at the University of Antioquia (Colombia), a Master of Science (Molecular Biology) at the University of Québec in Montréal (UQAM) and a M.B.A in Pharmaceutical Management at Laval University.
Sophie Mathieu joined the Exactis team in 2018 as a Clinical Scientist and transitioned to a Project Manager position in 2019. She previously obtained her PhD in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacology from the Université de Montréal. During her graduate studies, she developed strong research skills including scientific writing, critical thinking and has greatly contributed to the progression of several projects and scientific publications. Afterwards, she gained 2+ years of experience in early-stage clinical trials at Altasciences contract research organization. This experience has extended her knowledge of study design conception, protocol development, data interpretation, compliance and clinical study report writing intended for European, American and Canadian regulatory submissions. As Project Manager, Sophie manages different clinical studies to ensure high compliance, data integrity and subject safety from start-up to close-out.
Anastasia Papageorgiou holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Concordia University and has over 20 years experience in the Contract Research Organization industry. Over the course of her career, she has worked as a medical writer, managed medical writing teams, and supported countless medical writing projects for clinical trials and regulatory submissions. Anastasia recently joined the Exactis team in July 2020 as a Project Manager within the Clinical Operations team. She will manage clinical studies from start-up to close-out to ensure quality, timely, and within budget study deliverables.
Touhidur Rashid Opu obtained his MD degree from University of Dhaka (Bangladesh) and completed his MSc in Experimental Medicine at McGill University. During his medical studies, he gained valuable knowledge and experience in clinical management of cancer patients. During his graduate studies, he developed strong research skills working on several projects in Immunology and Molecular Biology. Following his graduation, Touhid worked at MUHC where he successfully coordinated multiple phase II-III clinical trials in Oncology and Immuno-Oncology.
Touhid joined the Exactis team in 2019 as a CRA where he monitors multiple ongoing Oncology clinical trials at the participating sites utilizing the Risk Based Monitoring approach. He also acts as the primary support for the Project Manager to carry out different trial-related activities. In 2020, Touhid took on the additional role of Medical Science Liaison at Exactis where he is involved in establishing strong relationships with the PIs at the PMT network sites and KOLs in Oncology to facilitate their integration and engagement to the Exactis Network.”
Yasmine Madagh-Biskri obtained her MSc in Molecular Chemistry at Pierre and Marie Curie University (France). She has previous experience working as Clinical Research Associate in Contract Research Organizations and public hospitals on several phases I-III studies in different therapeutic areas such as Oncology and Neurology in both adult and pediatric populations.
Yasmine recently joined the Exactis team in August 2020 as Clinical Research Associate, where she will be in charge of monitoring the different Interventional and Observational studies of Exactis.

Garyfallia (Rosa) Christodoulopoulos is a graduate of McGill University, where she obtained a PhD in the department of Experimental Medicine. After her studies, Rosa worked in clinical research in the field of oncology before joining Exactis in June 2018 as a site manager for the Personalize My Treatment initiative.
Graduated from University of Montreal, Vincent obtained a bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics. He also holds a MSc in Clinical Sciences from the University of Sherbrooke. After his studies, Vincent worked on different projects in medical informatics including the development of tools for standardizing and analyzing medical data in oncology.
As a Data Analyst at Exactis, Vincent is responsible for transforming, cleaning, and organizing data into reports for decision-making. In addition, Vincent provides support and knowledge to translate business goals into question that can be answered with data query.
Melanie joined Exactis in 2019 as a Clinical Data Manager. She has 6 years of data management experience in different Hospital Research Centers where she managed and coordinated activities linked to several clinical trials databases. At Exactis, she is responsible for the coordination of data management and cleaning activities across multiple studies including the continuous implementation of quality control checks and data validation procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of clinical data from project inception to close-out.
She interacts with Exactis’ multidisciplinary teams to ensure data management aspects of the projects are properly considered and integrate well with other study activities.
Zoe Qiu joined Exactis in 2020 as a Clinical Data Manager, with 7 years of data management experience in both pharmaceutical and Clinical Research Organizations. She is responsible for the overall data quality and documentation, including the performance of data management tasks from study start-up, inclusive of database design, through database lock within electronic data capture (EDC) systems. Responsible for the creation of CRFs, programming of edit checks, facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data cleaning, query generation and management, and development of relevant data management documents.
Phil worked for Apple for 7 years before joining Exactis in 2017 and has over 16 years of experience in IT support. He is responsible for handling day-to-day IT operations and support requests, planning, setup and distribution of new equipment and procedures, account management, vendor contracts, facilitating hardware repairs and replacements and network infrastructure. He is knowledgeable across both Windows and Mac platforms, as well as various cloud services and network equipment.
